I have a small block car with a/c that I am turning into a COPO clone.

Does anyone make a heater box for a small block a/c to BB non a/c conversion?

Thank you for any resoponse.

I just saw something like that in a magazine about 2 weeks ago! It was a fiberglass A/C delete cover. Looked factory, and they may have them for big blocks. I'll look through my magazines when I get home and find it for ya.

It looks like they've already chimed in elsewhere on the forum, but I found that magazine, and the company is called American Graffiti. They sell this thing called "The Magic Box". http://www.americangraffiti.biz/ Check it out... Good luck!

I appreciate that.

Is the hole in the firewall much larger on an a/c car?

To make it more correct would the entire firewall have to be replaced?

I believe the hole is in fact larger on the A/C car, but you may want to check with others on that one.

Yes the hole is larger on an AC car. The American Graffiti box is made specifically for an AC car and will cover the entire hole. You will still need to use an AC heater core to work with the American Graffiti box. I have the American Graffiti box and am pleased with the fit and appearance. The lower heater hose is a very tight fit though.

The american grafitti box will not look correct in a COPO clone, might as well keep the A/C components. The only way to get a correct look is to weld up the A/C opening and recut the firewall for the correct non A/C cutout, or get a replacement firewall section for a non A/C car.
