I installed a stainless rock valley tank in my 67. The tank looks great, but the filler doesn't line up with the hole in the trunk floor. Anybody else run into this problem? I'm waiting on the new filler neck from Larry C. over at pro-touring.com then I'll have to cut the trunk floor. Any ideas on a sheet metal box between the floor and the filler neck? I'd really like to isolate the gas from the trunk since that's where I've mounted the battery.

This is an old post but by I have run into the same problem. Did you get any resolution.

My rock valley tank is not perfectly aligned to the filler neck but it is in the "factory" cutout in the trunk pan area. The alignment is off by about 1/4 inch. The rubber hose that fits in between the filler neck and the tank neck makes up up for the misalignement just fine. I am also in line with you on Larry's gas cap, can't wait until they come out.

My alignment was off about an inch. Talked to Scott at Rock Valley and Frank at Detroit Speed. There is a possibilty in my case that the rear panel is pushed in slightly not allowing for the installation. The supplied straps were a little short for the stock bolts. I bought longer bolts but that made it worse because of the angle. Rock Valley is sending longer straps. Should fix the problem.
