hey guys (and gals)
how much would it cost to have my 4spd tranny hump cut out and replaced with a new repair panel that i got from classic industries?
i went to the body shop down the road from me and they said $650.00

to add to my post.....
he said if the interior is still inthe car and so-on and having to cut and weld. blah blah blah
i told him i will take the interiorout then he went down to 600still no good for me
am i getting ripped?
i went to high school with this guys son!!
he also works there.
im planning to cut out the section with an air nibbler and just taking it to have the piece welded in. that shouldnt cost more than $250. hopefully
thanks for any input

I have the same patch panel and am going to be doing mine this weekend more than likely. I will post pics as soon as I do get it done. It isn't very complicated and no where near $600 worth of labor.

If you have the desire to do most of it yourself, you can most of the money. I cut and fit a floor pan, then had a friend weld it up. Mistake was that I allowed him to talk me into a lap joint. If I had it to do over, I'd cut rough cyt the floor. Then cut the patch panel to the size you need, and use it to carefully scribe the floor for final cut. Cut with a cutoff wheel. You should be able to find a welder to come to you.
