I have a 69Z and would like to change the rear leafs. My question is, are the leafs that you can bye from directly from Eaton the same as the ones that Rick's sells for $200 more. I'm talking about being technically correct for restoration purposes. Eaton doesn't seem to specify if they are correct for restoration.

Call Eaton up and tell them just what you want and let them figure out what they can furnish.

But first, I would go to a Scales House or a Truckstop and scale both ends of my car separately so I can tell them what each end actually weighs so they will be dead-on.

Unless your state's DOT would scale all four wheels with their portable scales for you if you caught them at a slack time??

From what I gather, Heartbeat City sells the only original looking spring with square pockets for the plastic spacers. I belive the HB city springs are sold thru Rick's also. Eaton's are not correct the last time I checked. I know some peolpe will disagree with me, but I had my springs checked and rearched back to factory specs. Time will tell if it was a wise decision. If not I will start looking.

Heartbeat or Camaro Specialties sell the correct rear springs. Eaton springs are suposedly different looking but function ok.I bought my big block rear springs from camaro specialties cost me like 400 bucks.

Why don't you have your stock springs re-arched so that they are, well, still stock!!

Yes, do it. You have nothing to lose but a few hours. Someone talked me into doing just that and I am glad I did.
