I have a SB 350 @ 300 HP in my 67 vert. Currently I have a Carter AFB 9605s 600 CFM carb with a Manual Choke. It runs fine, but I have come across a nearly brand new Edelbrock 1411 750 CFM with electric choke. As I said, there is nothing wrong with the Carter, but I like the idea of the electric choke and certainly wouldn't mind a little perfomance boost by using a larger carb. Is this too much carb for my SB? Would I realize any perfomance gain?

yes........750 is a bit much..............heres a giude line for carb CFM.................CUBIC INCHES X RPM DIVIDED BY 3456=CFM AT 100 PERCENT V.E. SO ITS A VERY GOOD BASELINE TO START ON A STREET ENGINE www.hardcoreparts.ca

IMHO the only time a 750 would be better is at full throttle. The primaries are much smaller on your 600 and it's street manners will be much better. This is why Quadrajets were used so often on stock engines. I would look into an electric choke for your Carter and keep it.

I also saw on E-bay that someone is just trying to sell a cap as a conversion kit. I think you need more than the cap !

I put an electric choke on my Edelbrock Carb., which should be the same as your Carter. I needed alot more then just the cap !

Thanks everyone. I'm sticking with the Carter. I'll look into converting to Electic choke.
