Hey everyone, I have been working on my 67' and just started cleaning up some of the motor components.

I first cleaned the elite's and preped them for paint. I used a red high heat paint and really laid a heavy coat on. After everything was painted I used a razor scraper and took off the paint on the fins and lettering. Once that was done I used mothers polish and cleaned up the aluminum.
I think they came out pretty good.

The intake was sandblasted and then cleaned. After I preped it I sprayed it with high heat clear. It really shinned the intake up and made it presentable.

Well thought this might intrest someone. Tell me what you think!

Thanks. Justin

I think I would paint the intake witha high temp paint your engine color. It looks to have a brownish tint to it. Intakes can be pretty hard to clean up. It's going to be the focal point of your engine and you want it to look good. The valve covers don't look bad, but I personally am not a fan of the elite valve covers. I ran them for a few years on a truck and the darn fake allen heads kept falling out!! Finally lost them and to the swap meet they went.
