I have a mild 355 motor and it will just be street driven. I need to get a new set of rockers and don't want to spend big money. Should I just go back with the stock stamped rockers?

Or are the stock looking roller tipped any better. I'm looking for advice and suggestions.

There is nothing wrong with the stock rockers but if you are looking for a little up grade then a roller rock full roller from scorpion is a nice ad on .

Stay away from rockers made buy proform,cat and companys like that.

The rockers that are stock and converted to roller tip and even the CC ones i consider to be bad attemps to make a roller rocker.

This is one area you want a quality piece.

I like the Comp Cams roller tips...they're stronger than a stocker, provide a more accurate rocker arm ratio, and reduce friciton,..all for about $25 more than a set of new stock GM rockers. No, they won't improve your ET by a second, but they're still worth it.

I looked at those comps, then got cheap and bought the summit brand, 1.6 ratio roller tip stamped rocker. 1 season, so far, so good. right around a hundred for the set.

That's what I was curious about, whether it was worth the extra $ for the roller tips on a set of stamped rockers?

Of all the roller tip Comp Magnum Roller Rockers are definately nice pieces. If you hold one of the "other" stamped rockers at the same time you can feel the weight difference and see how thick they are. Im not saying the others arent good (I sell similar rockers and they work great) but Comp ones are nice pieces.

1 went from the stock stamped 1.5 to a set of 1.6 comp magnum roller tips on my 383 with a xe274h and i can definately feel the difference.

i had 1.6 harland sharps on a stout 355 and i couldnt have been happier. GM also sells a nice set with bow ties stamped in them. they are also aluminum but i got thoose for free mixed in with a pot luck pile of crap
