I am going to put a short drop block on my spring and add U-bolts. My brake line runs along the back side of the rearend and the U-bolt would crush it if I don't move the line. How do you guys normally make this modification? Can I just loosen the line from clips and run the U-bolts under the lines, then reattach? What are my options and if anyone has pictures, that would be great. Thanks as always.

The brake lines, while steel, are still somewhat plyable. Just bend the tab up
on the rear axle, pull the brake line away from the rear enough to install the U bolt and form the line back to the rear and reclamp the clip!

If the lines are original it would be a good idea to replace them. Those old lines could break when you bend them. I only used one U-bolt and two T-bolts per side to avoid excessive bending of the lines. This works for me as my car only has a 327 in it.

Thanks for the great picture. I plan to tackle this Saturday. I am going to be putting in a 1" drop block so I will have to use 2. However, it seems like I read somewhere that I might need a spacer to put on the ubolt or come up with something so I don't bend the lower metal piece, I believe the shock mount. Any comments or help on that?
