What is the best way to install power windows in a '69 Camaro? I would like switches that have an original appearance, but am open to other options.
I will have the 712 Deluxe black interior and have not yet cut the door panels for the window crank knobs. I do have the deluxe window hardware and could recover some of my money by selling them. I figure that a car without A/C will require a lot of window action during the summer and power windows would be real convenient.

Check out the website for A1Electric. I was looking at their setup earlier this year and I like it.

I agree, I have been looking at these my self. Front and rear with switches will cost around $700.00

I just installed the "electric-life" system in my 69. Very complete set-up. good instructions and wiring harnesses. They bolted right into the original hole. Didn't have to pull the glass back out. I did have the glass out to replace it before I did the power conversion.
The window adjustments need to be pretty right on.
Switches look just like stock.
About 700 complete.

Mark, I have the Classic Auto Air. Works good. I like the firewall plate and fittings better than the Vintage Air.

There is a good discount running on electric life right now. Check out http://www.gpsuperstore.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6 and http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13071 for details

Bret - How exactly does the GP deal work? Do you just email them with the part numbers you want? Third party stuff always scares me when the third party is a 'website'. Can you shed some light on it for me?

Sorry, I forgot I posted on this.

If you click on the pro-touring link, the first post by "ProdigyCustoms" is Frank Serafine. Frank is a very good guy and the GP Superstore is a new venture he and his wife put together I think early this year. Here is the "shop" site http://www.prodigycustoms.com/ I don't think you'll have any problems dealing with Frank and Lisa.

Anyway, click this link to get the answers to your questions.
