My father passed away while performing a rotisserie restoration for me. We are at the point of bolting engine together and putting it on the subframe. I have been using the 68 Assembly guide for help.

Here is my issue, I am not 100% sure I have a turbo 350. How do I identify it? The console shifter has the numbers 1,2 and 3. However, I do not have a kickdown cable, but I do have some parts from the powerglide linkage (kickdown).

Is there away to differentiate between a powerglide and turbo 350 by looking at it? I know it is not a turbo 400.

easiest way to identify it is to find or download a "pan gasket chart" with pics.
Another easy way would be to move the shift lever on the side of the trans and count the clicks, starting in either park or low, a PG will click 4 times, a T350 will click 5.
Easiest way on a T400 is that it's the only one of the three with an electrical connector.

Here's something along the lines of what Jim's talking about, chart-wise.

In 68, it wouldn't have had a TH350 from the factory, so you either have a 69 plate in the console, or it got changed along the way. The pan should tell you right away what you have, but if it doesn't have a place for a kickdown cable to go in and bolt on, it's not a TH350.

Thanks guys, it is definitly a Turbo 350.

So I guess I just need to order the kickdown cable and bracket.
