I'm the new kid on the block here. Would like to have your opinions on my interior redo. I'm changing from standard to deluxe. ie door panels and all. I have order all parts except seat covers from a company in Texas called Lonestar Muscle Car. The door panels are Al Knoch. My dilema is do I go with comfortweave or houndstooth? Car is 69 RS Black w/white stripes. I am seeing alot of houndstooth but not that much of comfortweave. I am leaning towards the houndstooth because I think it would bring the car all together as far as color combo.

I changed my coupe from the standard vinyl to the houndstooth. My car is black and the houndstooth really makes a difference. I get a lot of good comments on it and is sure is cooler in the summer.:)

If your original standard door panels are black and in good or better shape, I'd be interested in purchasing them,..help you off-set some the costs of your new interior,..shoot me an e-mail if interested.

And,..I'm in the minority, but I like the comfort-weave. I never liked houndstooth back in the day, and I still don't. Is there an uglier seat-hide than the orange houndstooth?...oh yeah, the yellow,..ugh!

My opinion.

I too changed from standard black vinyl interior to houndstooth. I did not convert to the deluxe interior door panels though. Hehehe...as for yellow/black houndstooth being ugly, it's definitely a personal taste thing. When Year One finally offered the yellow/black houndstooth kits, I jumped at the chance. I watch people walk up to my car because it's yellow. When they pull their heads out from under the hood and look at the rest of the car, they all seem to be amazed by the yellow/black houndstooth. I haven't had one person tell me that they thought that it was ugly.

I'm not insulted Straight-line.:)

Houndstooth vs comfort weave is really a personal taste issue. I don't know if one would be considered more "desirable" than the other.

BTW, I have always assumed that houndstooth is a fabric, correct?

I originally wanted Houndstooth for my '69 simply because of the color contrast of the upholstery. I knew I was going with a black interior no matter what the exterior color was going to be.
I ended up with Comfortweave because for some strange reason I asked the wife which she liked best.

I like the contrasting design of Houndstooth. But it difinetly doesn't belong in every interior. Imagining your car.... being a black RS with white stripes.... I think Houndstooth would look very nice. Stylish. Black on black is kind of bland, so the contrasting fabric would break it up and compliment the white strips.

Now, if the car was an all-out monster with some serious beast under the hood, slammed hot suspension and a full compliment of modern guages inside, I'd go with the Comfortweave.

The car has a 454 with dyno'ed 440hp at rear wheels. Sounds good if you ask me. If I put the houndstooth in, it would pull my color combo together. However, The stealth look sounds good with the comfortweave.. Might be a little warm in the summer.
Tough decision thanks for input. Will keep you updated on what I am doing.

I just had my entire interior redone. The car originally has dark blue standard. I used all standard interior parts (dark blue) except the seats; I went with the comfort weave seats. Some purists might not like me mixing the 2 but I think it looks really good with the comfort weave seats, and they are more comfortable than the standard.

houndstooth gets my vote! When I recovered my seats, I almost went from houndstooth to comfortweave, but decided to keep the houndstooth. I'm glad I did. It looks awesome (imho). I have friends in the local car club that have ht and some have comfort. I don't think either look bad at all... tough call. Good luck in your decision...
