I don't think so... I think we went to metric sometime in the '70's. My '68 is in MPH.

The Canadian speedo is MPH - the same as USA in 1967.

I remember seeing a foreign shipped (Sweden I think) 67 or 68 Camaro that had a KPH spedo listed in these classifieds not so long ago.

...Finally something on here I can profess to be an expert on...

Lived in Canada all my life. All Canadian cars were MPH ...the metric system was not adopted in Canada until well after the 1960's. Our scrap yards are full of 1960's cars and you will find none with kph speedos.

No difference in US and Canada cars except for additional antifreeze in the radiator.

Canadian metrication began in January 1970 when the Liberal government led by Pierre Trudeau introduced the White Paper on Metric Conversion which was supported by the House Leaders of all political parties in the House of Commons. By 1975 metric product labelling began and weather forecasts were in metric. By the end of 1977 all road signs were metric and all new cars had metric odometers and speedometers. The US agreed to follow Canada with this conversion in 1975 but backed out because of public opposition and cost.

This link explains how close the US came to buying their gas in liters and everything else metric!

And this one is dedicated to completing the change to metric.

Just thought it would be interesting.

I live here in Canada, they're MPH.

I know of a 68 that was supposidly brought back from overseas (Europe?) by someone in the Canadian military (yes we have one:)). It has a metric speedo. The current owner took it out until he realized that it was kind of unique and re-installed it.

How were stickers different? I have seen somewhere that a canadian 67 camaro had a sticker on the passenger inner wheel well under the hood, but do not know what it says. Keep it coming ,great info! And a big thanks to GM historical services for there documentation. Roger

Don't know about 67's, but 69's sold new in Canada had a GM of Canada oil change recommendation sticker applied to the passenger side inner fender just above the heater hose clamp that was placed upside-down so it could be read leaning over the fender; it's shown in the A.I.M. in UPC 0, Sheet B1, item 4, P/N 3406985. Here's the original sticker on my Canadian-delivered 02D car, which is the ONLY visible difference between a U.S.-delivered car and a Canadian-delivered car:

I have a 67 with KPH, but then again my Camaro is a Swiss one.

The current owner took it out until he realized that it was kind of unique and re-installed it.

In the mid 90's I had as collateral on a Camaro purchase a 67 KPH Cluster. Once the kid paid me the rest of the money, I returned it like I said I would.
The car it belonged to was a convert, I think an RSSS, but the other kicker was heater delete! Kid was painting underside some god awful purple. He said if he ever sold he would let me know, which he did not. Somebody finagled the H/D plate from him, I won't mention names. This car was in San Jose, Ca.
Anybody know what happened to it? With heater delete and the KPH does anybody know what country this may have come from?

Could be any European or Middle Eastern country; probably Middle East with a heater delete.

My 76 Monte Carlo (Canadian car) was primary in mph and miles odometer with KMH underneath, I believe as GM Jim states that all 77 models were metric speedo and odometer with mph underneath, during that time some company sold replica decals that you could install over your older model car that showed the KPH using the existing speedo head, Check the head close it may be a decal conversion and I would also check out the odometer against a measured mile 1 KM = .6 miles or 1 mile = 1.6 KM that will tell for sure if it is a metric speedo, or a conversion job
