What intake and carb combo will fit underneath a stock steel replacement cowl induction hood on a 69 Camaro with a 454? Will a Edelbrock RPM intake fit?
I just purchased a 69 and I am going to put a BB in it.
I am also wanting to run one of those air cleaners and housings (dont know what that assembly is called) that mate up to the cowl hood to get an original "look". Will this work?

Yes,..it will all fit under your cowl hood,..Edelbrock RPM intake, carb (Holley, Q-Jet, etc), and cowl induction air cleaner.
In fact I run all the above with the larger 4" air filter, AC-Delco # A-697-C. The original air filter is the three incher, A-212-CW.

King,
I ran an Edelbrock performer dual plane intake on my old 1969 Camaro in the early 1990's or was it an RPM. It's been so long I forget. This car had a BBC (396) with a Holley and a small air cleaner. It will fit under there just fine. Just don't buy a single plane tunnel ram intake and expect it to fit under your cowl hood. make sure you look at the size of the intake. You don't want anything that sticks up 8 miles high.

Aren't the correct motor mount towers necessary in order for it to fit?

Ive ran DART,Victor JR's, Team G's all under a stock cowl hood. Ive even used a cowl aircleaner with my DART intake on a 454. It needed a couple of "field modifications" but nothing too extreme.
get buildin !!!!
