I read a post some time ago where they hid the 4 lines coming out of the fire wall Do we have any picks?
Also I'm going to do the fire wall soon and I need to put in the outlets for vintage air, Is there a standard messurement> I don't have the money to buy the vintage air yet but I need to complete tthe fire wall soon. My plan is to put in the unit later down the road, I just want to get the fire wall finished, Is this possible?

You dont do anything,,, if you had non ac car,, all will come thru firewall thru the old heater opening. They will or did on mine,, send me a box cover that had 4 holes for two ac and two heater hoses, I didn't follow their instructions and did it differantly but accomplished the same thing only neater. I ate them out about their arrangement and I think they changed something with the installer in mind as they at that time didn't install, just sold the units.. As for the heater blower opening,, they will send you a cover for it as well as cowl vents.

Try this: http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=60472 It has a nice pic of how Steve hid his ac hoses.

I smoothed the firewall on my '69 El Camino and used a bulkhead fitting that is hidden by the fender. I used braided steel for the heater hoses and refrigerant. Here is the link to a picture of it: http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?bg=336633&image=http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/382000-382999/382289_62_full.jpg

Thanks I like steves and the elcamino too. how hard is it to turn the hoses once there through the inside of the fender to hook up with the compressor? Should I be concerned about kinking the lines?

If you go thru the old heater hole you will still need to get the lines inside the car.You have only reached the cowl area. I wish I had taken more pictures of my installation. I think the bulkhead connection gives the cleanest look but does add more hose connections and it can be tuff to get them tightened down inside the cowl. But everything is hidden and looks cool! You will need to cut either 1 large hole or 4 holes just above the kick panel to get the lines in the car. They will then need to be sealed off so that any water that runs down the cowl cant get inside the car. The holes also need to be large enough to get the fittings thru unless you are making up your own and not having them crimped on. Or move the bulkhead over just a bit so that it isnt inside the cowl area and ends up inside the car under the dash. This can also be done in a clean fation and should be easier. My lines went thru the old heater hole similar to hotrodsrj. I cut a 2" round hole above the kick panel and brought the lines into the car. I used braided lines and was able to make up the ends after they were thru the hole. Sealing that hole wasnt very pretty though. Someone else here was using a second bulkhead at the kickpanel. Looked nice.
