Are the Mickey Thompson old-style finned valve covers considered tall or short? I have a big block w/ power booster and want to install these valve covers and am concerned about clearance problems. Any help would be great.

Don't know if the big block ones have the same problem as the sb ones. On factory valve covers, the PVC grommet is baffled and located between two rockers. On the M/T sb covers it is not baffled and is located right in line with a rocker, so that oil squirts right into the PCV valve causing excessive oil consumption. You can fabricate a baffle, but what a PITA>

Might want to check that out.

I would like to know if there is an issue with oil consumption too. I am restoring (i guess you would call it that) a set of old ones with the 427 stamped part still there and not drilled out for PCV. I have bead blasted them and polished the tops of the fins and everything raised. Man do they look great!!! I would post a pic but I'm not sure how. It will be a couple years till I am actually ready to put them on but it was something fun to tinker on this weekend.
