44, I have an unfinished, well-optioned 67 ss 350 vert in the garage I picked up in 90
and shelved in 92 when my daughter was born. Have a 67 Firebird Coupe (93000 mi) with body damage in the back yard for that “next last project”.
My Father bought a new 68 Camaro in Nov. 1967, I totaled it 1980, since had around 25 or 30 F bodies, mostly parts cars 67- 69 Camaros and Firebirds.
Traded a 66 Sunbeam Tiger and a 69 z28 (the only options it had were a posi and radio) DZ block had been replaced with a MO(68), for the 67 ss vert and a 67 rs ss 350 parts car (complete with protect o plate but major rust).

I’m 41. I have a ’73 Z/28 for just over 3 years; a “88 IROC-Z for 1 year. When I was just out of H.S. (1977) I had my first Camaro, “67 rs for 1year. I wrecked it in Phoenix, AZ, then sold it to a guy that owned a body shop in town. May be that’s why Arizona has so many 1st Gen.’s. http://www.camaros.net/forum/rolleyes.gif

Well I'm almost 48 & had my 67 for about 2 years & 3 months. I always wanted a First Generation with a Big Block & never could get it (couldn't insure them when I was younger) So I turned my 67 RS/SS 350 into a RS/SS 396. I still lack the body work & fixing the Drivers seat Bottom. I have the Body Panels & saving the money to put them on & to get My car Painted.

54 and I've had my 69 Z for 2 years..... its a replacement for one I bought when I survived 4 years in the Army 65 thru 69... it was a 68 RS/Z28 with the rare split back bench seat.... back then it was JUST a neat car... in 1976 when we had the Arab oil embargo and gas went from $.33 to $.66 overnight and you cound only get gas on alternate days after waiting in line for hours, I sold it to some 'DUMB' kid for a whopping $1800... boy did he get taken....... Oh well, I looked for that car for the past 10 years never found it....

I'm 32 and have had my current 69 for the last 11 years. My first car was a 1969 Camaro that I received on my 16th birthday. I kept that car for 7 years until I traded it and cash for another 69. I have owned a 69 (several) every year of my life since I was 16. The tag on the front of my first 69 said, "Wine me, dine me, 69 me!" My parents loved it-NOT!

I'm 39 and have had my '67 convertible for 8 years. It started life as a 6 cylinder/power glide/10 bolt. Then it became a 327/4-speed/10 bolt. Two 383's later, it is now a 383/4-speed/12 bolt. I swap motors like underwear--I think it's time for another car! This site is awesome, very helpful. Thanks.

I'm 52 and got my '69 from my mother who bought it new. Its an unrestored southern car that has always been garaged and never any collision damage and never any major work. The heads have never been off. Now has approx 92K miles. Getting ready for a repaint and some minor tweaking to make it perfect. Does not need restoring.

I'm 36, got my 68 in 1983, my first year out of high school. It was my second car. I was 18 when I got it, and have had it 18 years. So I've owned it half my life, and not quite half of it's life.

It was my only car, driven every day until 1996 except for two periods when it needed repairs, once after a drunk hit me, and once after a guy who said he never saw my bright yellow paint job hit me.

In 1996 I took it apart, every nut and bolt. I mean every one, convertible top frame and all. Took two years to complete the rebuild. Now drive it mostly on the weekends or when I'm off of work.

I still get the same feeling I did when I got it every time I put the top down, or just press the go pedal. (Sometimes I almost start giggling.)

Im 55 and have had my 68 camaro for 7 years. It is not original but very nice and a lot of fun. I've had abody shop for 22 years and had 3 68 camaros (parts cars) sitting around and decided one day that there was enought good parts to make one nice car. The car started life as a 6 auto went to a built 350 4 speed and as of last month has a 396/375 4 speed and wish the damn snow would melt so I can try it out.
Also have a restored 69 Firebird Conv it is original matching number car.
ONE of the few good things about being older is that we got to live thru the Muscle Era, in 69 I bought a brand new 69 Firebird coupe 400HO 4 speed, sold it it two years later to get married, never said I was too bright.

dont know how old this post is, but it sure is interesting.
I'm 17, bought my gold 67 6cyl PG last year over the summer. Its had two previous owners, both old ladies. it has 65,000 original miles on it, and is completely original (so far) i'm building a solid lifter 355 for the car for street performance, i'm backing it up with a TCI TH-350 manual valve bodied competition trans, and putting it to the ground with a 4.10posi 12 bolt rear. i've already rebuilt the entire suspension, but with the rear swap i'll be changing to QA1 coil-overs and adding ladderbars and subframe connectors. i want it to be a 12 second street car, but not barely 12's, i want it to run 12.01. I'm making this so that it isnt an unstreeable race car driven on the street, instead something that will have serious torque and HP through the entire range to 6000rpms! i've got a long ride ahead of me.

I am 32 and have had my 67 since 1988.

I sold the car to a friend in 1994 and bought it back in 1995. For that year the car sat in heaated storage and did nothing but get dusty. "Finished" the car in 1996 for the second time...it's almost "finished" again.

I'm 51, owned a '67 Plain Jane from '79 -'88, a total rust bucket, 6/PG. Changed to Corvette L-82/PG and raced it for 9.5 years, made $18K. Sold it later, no eng/trans/wheels/tires for $200. Seen it 1.5 yrs later in upper Delaware on the side of the road, Route 13, for sale, rolling chassis, $1K.

Bought another '67, came in boxes, for $300, in '83, no rust, 283/3-spd. Didn't know what I had, parted it out, made $1K. Really dumb on that one.

Bought '68 PLain Jane from towing company auction in '85. Transferred everything from '67 engine/drivetrain, made a few upgrades. Tore completely apart for restore job, installed cage and s/f connectors, 12-bolt, and that's where I'm at today.

Wife owned a total of four in High school and though our present marriage today. One of them, '68 PLain Jane, we owned twice, 327/4-spd, bought for $1200 from dealer in '76, sold to a father for his son's 16th b'day for $1500 in '87. Son came with Dad to see car, after the handshake to seal the deal, son kissed the car. It went to good home.

I'm 37. I've owned over 60 first gen. Camaros. Only 5 were 69's and 8 68's. The longest I've owned one was for 10 years..My 67 RSSS 350 coupe which I still have. I also have had over 20 first gen Firebirds. 1 69, a few 67's. mostly 68's. The longest one I've owned is a 68 Firebird 350 coupe. 12 years. I've logged over 100,000 miles on it and it's been to every corner of the cont. US.My first car was a 67 Camaro 327 conv. White/Red.Bought in 1981. I bought it from a friend who also had a 67 Camaro 327 Lt.Blue/Blue conv. We terrorized the west side of Cleveland with out cars until we got into a fight and he bashed in the quarters of my car..I sold it for $450.00 in 1984. I wish I could find that car..

47... I have had 4 Camaros. The first one was an original 67 RS/SS Butternut Yellow 350/295 4 speed when I was in high School. My dad purchased the car for me for $1200. That car made a lot of trips down the quarter mile and finally the engine started to smoke so I saved my money and purchased an LT1 short block from Berger Chevrolet, put the motor back to gether and sold the whole car for $1000. Go figure...
The second one was a 67 SS. I was in the Navy in Charleston, SC. found car in a swamp paid $800 for it put all back together and sold it for a boat (stupid huh). The third was a 69 plain Jane that was sold to a buddy who wanted it worst than I did.
Just recently picked up a 68 BB car that really should have just gone to Camaro Haven, But what do they say on speedvison "Don't crush restore em" So I'm taking that approach. I would like to say now, that I really appreciate all the help I have received so far and if you are up in MD stop by for a cold one.
