I'm currently rebuilding a 67 rs, only when i bought the car, it didn't come with interior. I have access to a 69 rear seat and was wondering if it would fit in the 67 and mount up properly.

Welcome to the best 1st gen Camaro site, period.

Which interior does your 67 have? If it has the deluxe interior with rear seat arm rests, you'll need to make sure you get a narrow back seat. If not, then get a standard seat. Obviously the 69 upholstery is different than 67 and 68, but the frames are the same for a given style (wide or narrow) seat.

We have a lot of info to be searched here. I did a quick search on back seat fit, and came up with this thread which gives some of the widths I'm talking about.

Eric, Thanks for your quick response. My 67 originally came with deluxe interior and all I got when I bought the car was the passenger seat. Thanks to the information you've provided me, I think I can figure out what needs to be done. (at least until my next problem) Thanks again Eric.

Two other donors for a back seat the correct width should be the verts (all have armrests to cover the top mechanism and reinforcements, so the seat is narrower) and Firebirds (pretty sure most if not all Birds had the armrests). There's also a fold down rear seat, but they are pretty pricey at this point.

I believe you're right Eric. My Camaro came with a Firebird interior.... at least as far as seats go. They were Standard as opposed to Deluxe and the rear seat was narrow with the armrests w/ashtrays.

Could this be a perfect time to install the fold down seat option? If I had to do it over again, I would.
