I found a 70 RS camaro the other day for sale. I think I can get it for around $7,000. The body is in great shape, I didnt see any bondo, But I didnt look up under the car. It has new paint (red.) flowmasters. But what really caught my eye was it has a TPI motor.

It ran great. Didnt smoke or knock when started. Looks great. Im wondering if it is worth it.

Also int is in good shape, Needs a little tlc.

What do you guys think?
Thanks.

Do you want it because you like it or for collector value? If you want it for collector value then the TPI engine will hurt the value. If you just like the car and the price "feels" right to you go for it. Can you build it cheaper?

Are you sure it is a true RS?

I dont know if it is a true RS. It has the RS front end on it. Also It was a 4 speed car. The pedal is still in it.

I want it to resell. I know that without the orignal motor in it, It will hurt it some. I figure with the TPI in it that might help. Looking at some of the prices of the second gen cars I might make some on it.

I have found some that are just as nice, (In the pictures anyway.) for about the same price or a little lower. The problem is that they are so far away.

I may go back and really look it over. Kinda go from there.
Thanks.

At $7,000 for a non numbers matching 70 RS, I don't know if there is much room in it for you to make money. Do a little research before you jump in. 2nd Gens are starting to come along, but they don't pull near the money of a 1st Gen.

I have been on nastyz28.com. They have some good stuff. I try to keep up on the prices of them.

I know that they are going up, But like you said they are not up there like the 1st gen cars. If I was going to keep it for myself, I would get it. But like a lot of people too many projects.

I bought my wife a 72 opel gt this year, I also bought a 63 rambler last month, Also my camaro I have owned for 20 years. So too many projects.

I may get it. I dont know.

Thanks.
