i purchase a 67,and it have a LT-1 engine.i want to know if that is agood engine or what can i do to improve horsepower?

I personally dont like the Lt1 when you go to work on it you will see why,espicially a tune up.But all in all they are decent engines,thay are like any engine as far as performance mods it depends on what you want to do with it,you have bolt on horsepower or internal horsepower.need a little more info,do you want to drive it everyday,race it,weekend cruiser?

How much do you plan to spend?I would recommend a supercharger over a turboJMHO.If you dont want to spend that much add a gear to the rearend and put a 100 shot of NOS on it.

To elaborate on what georgia69 was saying...the LT1 motor places the distributor on the front of the motor behind the water pump. What a wonderful idea that was. But overall the LT1 is an excellent motor.
