View Full Version : Your favorite commerical
zuma Dec 21st, 05, 06:36 PM I was wondering what everyones favorite commericals were? I think a few of mine are the old coke ad with the kid and Mean-Joe-Greene of the Steelers, and those old Frog Budwiser spots. I like the new nextel one with the 2 guys dancing at work with one guy playing a boom-box, or the Say No capital one spots with the guy flying over the office partition. Or how about the "Office Linebacker" one? Maybe I watch too much TV :clonk: well its either that or writing poetry ;)....How about you?...Mike:D
shoddy_F-body Dec 21st, 05, 08:17 PM As soon as i saw the title to the thread i was thinking the Nextel ad with the guy dancing and the guy holding the boombox.Ooh baby baby.baby baby.Cracks me up everytime. Another favorite was the Nike ad with the guy streaking at the soccer game.
camaroman7d Dec 21st, 05, 08:38 PM I still think the one that made me laugh the most was a couple years ago when Budwieser had the horse that passed gas when the lady was holding the candle in the carriage.
The new Carl's Jr. "milk" "shake" one is kind of funny the first time you see it. The guy shaking or trying to shake the cow.
RSDannyG Dec 21st, 05, 08:43 PM Corona Christmas ad. Beach house at night, palm trees then the Christmas lights light up one of the trees.

cd playa Dec 21st, 05, 11:02 PM I like the Geico Insurence commerical, " I have good news, I just saved a ton of money on car insurence by switching to Geico.
I also liked the Budweiser commerical where the horse's were playing football.
I like the burger king commerical, where the burger king guy makes a touch down and danced like dion sanders
ChevyThunder Dec 21st, 05, 11:24 PM Mean Joe Green and the kid with the Coke...all time best
The new Bud commercials with Flava flav
I loved the Ford Mustang commercial months back featuring Steve McQueen
Everett#2390 Dec 22nd, 05, 06:23 AM My best: 1970, Shell is doing a 30-second commerical. All you hear is a car going through a mountain road shifting gears and you're looking at a winding mountain road. After 25 seconds, the car appears and text comes up Shell Performs
The car = 1969 Z/28 Camaro.
My second best is the Sprint commerical with the man sitting at his desk and he's describing of 'sticking it to the man. His right-hand man states you are the man.
jackr Dec 22nd, 05, 06:28 AM Not sure about TV commercial favorites but I sure think the Bud Light "real men of genius" ads on the radio are a hoot.
pdq67 Dec 22nd, 05, 06:33 AM He, He!!

ZZMike Dec 22nd, 05, 08:35 AM Definitely the Nextel ad with the guys dancing to the boom-box in the office. I also find some of the AFLAC commercials quite amusing.
An honorable mention goes to the Jack-In-The-Box holiday ball commercial, where the holiday ball is Xeroxing his "hole" at the Christmas party.
orange crush Dec 22nd, 05, 08:59 AM I will give my vote for the Vonage commercials. ie: kid throwing the ball bat through the glass door, or the guy cutting down the tree and it lands on his car, or the out of control rocket and many others. WOO HOO WOO HOO HOO.
TOMSTV Dec 22nd, 05, 09:13 AM I liked the Budweiser lizards,Frankie & Louie, they were always up to no good.

JHunter Dec 22nd, 05, 09:39 AM I've got two:
The Allstate commercial that comes on around this time of year, with the spokesman (the actor is the black guy that played the president in the series 24 on fox) saying something to the effect of: Last year, over 2,000 people deep fried their turkeys, 35 succeeded in burning down their house.
The other is a spoof - its on the net somewhere, its called 'the worst job'. It shows a guy dreading going to work, gets there and he sits at a desk all day long and answers the phone. All he says is yes, yes, yessssss over and over. At the end they show who he's talking to - the verizon wireless guy " can you hear me now?"
b-boy Dec 22nd, 05, 08:58 PM Vintage: How about the old battery commercial that has a '68 Cuda (hemi?) in the background going rumpity-rump-rump? Awesome!
New: Gotta be the entire NASCAR team of Mark Martin singing "Our House" to the Maxwell House coffee. Hilarious!
Brackneyc Dec 22nd, 05, 09:19 PM I like the mini-van commercial where the dad is being picked up by the mom out in the desert. The mom says, "Daddy just had to have a motorcycle, didn't he?" I chuckle every time I see that one.
MrDanB Dec 22nd, 05, 10:16 PM When I was a kid...I remember a commercial where you see a tiny little Honda civic getting pulled over, then Rosie Greer struggles to get out, then proceeds to beat up his car and then rolls it down an embankment! That one always made me laugh.
I'll ditto on the vonage commercials. They are pretty good!
Dano:thumbsup:
blk/gld 68 Dec 23rd, 05, 10:51 AM I like the BUD one with the horses playing football! they kick the extra point and the guy says " do they always do that?" " nope sometimes they go for two!"

TOMSTV Dec 23rd, 05, 02:58 PM That's right,They usually go for two !

mjsmilford Dec 23rd, 05, 03:43 PM i dont remember what the add is for, but it has a guy up on a 6 ft. step ladder, and another guy on the ground with a garbage can ready to "catch + lid" the bee nest the ladder guy is going to knock down. well he winds up bear hugging the nest and falling head first into the can when the ladder falls over.
ummgawa Dec 23rd, 05, 04:25 PM I like the Mastercard commercial where the dude is at the amusement park and it ends "Hearing your Dad scream like a Girl, Priceless" while the opera lady is screeching.
davidpozzi Dec 23rd, 05, 08:11 PM Sunoco Fuel,
Mark Donohue drives the Penske 69 Camaro on a road course, he's hanging the rear end out slinging out of corners and shifting gears. The screen cuts to NO KNOCK more action on the track, then - NO PING etc, a great commercial, wish I had a copy...
383_68camaro Dec 25th, 05, 08:50 AM 76 sunbird commercial,
An old guy shuffles out of his house, gets into his sunbird while the announcer is telling us about the car. Its a v6, 200 hp, air etc, and it gets 30 mpg...the announcer is now quiet while the old guy starts the car.He drops it into reverse, nails it, does a reverse spin around, rips through the city, around buses, etc. Finaly he is he parks it by doing a long slide and coming to a stop between two cars right at the curb at the end of a t junction. There is about 2 feet of room between his car and the other two. He gets out and shuffles away, the announcer say " Gas milage may vary, depending on how you drive it!!"
RS3SDL2MG Dec 26th, 05, 06:31 PM I liked those ones that had that grizzly bear and that cow sitting at a bar talking and the bear say's to the cow (AT LEAST I'M NOT ON THE MENU) I never did see them addvertise anything though ?? I still don't know what product they were selling but they were funny to watch ,
Scoop69RS-SS Dec 27th, 05, 07:33 PM "Do metaphores pay?"
"Baaaaawahahaha, No!"
Rick & Deb
Geezer Dec 27th, 05, 08:56 PM A Corvette commercial years ago where the camera car is following the Vett through some kind of a course. At the end, the dialog says something about the footage being shot from the only thing that could keep up with the Vett. Then the scene pans back to a Camaro that was used for the camera car.
