Hi, this is my first post on this site. I have a '97 SS automatic. when i first got it, i would hear a bang and feel a jolt everytime i stomped it. Sears told me it was the transmission mount that had broken. They fixed it and it was fine,no movement. then it broke again about a week later. Sears replaced it for free, but said the next time it broke i would have to find a heavy duty transmission mount or they wouldn't fix it. well, it's broken again and i wanted some advice on what to buy and where to get it.

Make sure you don't have a broken engine mount as well.

Yes it's common on the 4th gen SS Camaros. The standard (T-56) equipped cars break them faster than the autos. You should go to Summit Racing (order on-line) and order a polyeurethane mount. This should stop you from breaking them in the future.
