I have a '97 SS automatic. when i first got it, i would hear a bang and feel a jolt everytime i stomped it. Sears told me it was the transmission mount that had broken. They replaced it and it was fine,no movement. then it broke again about a week later. Sears replaced it for free, but said the next time it broke i would have to find a heavy duty transmission mount or they wouldn't fix it. well, it's broken again and i wanted some advice on what to buy and where to get it. Is this a common occurance with these cars, why does mine keep breaking?

Your engine mounts may be worn out. If you do a polyurathane mount for the tranny, you need to do them for the engine as well. If you only put on a poly tranny mount, your motor will be flexing and your tranny mount will try to stop all of the movement. This isn't good.
