Probably correct number.........GM had a big strike then........i believe almost 5 months

Rare in this case doesn't translate into more valuable. It IS a desirable car (any 70-73 Z28 is desirable) but in most cases a similar 1970 Z28 will be worth more, and this is from someone who has owned a '72 RS/SS 350, and an '72 SS 396 (which is really rare), but when it comes down to it, the '70 just finds more willing buyers. That said, I've always had a soft spot for the "stepchild" '72's, and the '72 Z28 is something I'll own eventually (came close this summer, but the car was too rusty! If I run across another I may just have to buy it). That said, it is a great car to drive and a wonderful car to own.

Numbers matching? Well, first get them off the block, trans and rear, there are also date codes on other parts (which should be present if it really only has 12K, unless it was a 1/4 mile at a time) but those are the big 'uns. Lots of places to decode them on the web!

And be sure to check out the rear unibody ?subframe? for rust through behind the rear floor to where it goes up toward the trunk area. Those year Camaros were sorta bad about that.
