View Full Version : I got a 67 Coupe for early Xmas present :)
click Dec 23rd, 05, 10:46 AM Some very dear friends of ours, a couple in their early 80's, share Xmas and other holidays with us as they dont have any kids of their own. Well they were sorting thru stuff in their garage a few months ago, and came across this 67 Camaro Coupe in a box they had gotten in the late 60's when they bought an Impala in Calif. where they used to live and work. Well, when they found it in an old box of stuff, they thought that Id enjoy it much more than them. So at our early Xmas dinner on Wed. night, I was shocked to get this awesome car in a box, in perfect condition. Not a scratch or mark on it. Ive never seen this size model before either and weird thing, the box has no year on it anywhere. It runs on 2 D cell batteries and just goes straight until it bumps into something, then changes direction and keeps going. So thats my Xmas surprise this year, aint it great? :)

camaroman7d Dec 23rd, 05, 11:00 AM VERY cool!!. nice story too. I think I would keep it boxed up and in a safe place. I have never seen one of those either. I bet it could be worth a bit of change. Not that you would sell it, but keeping it nice would of course keep the value up. That is an awesome present to get.
jr68 Dec 23rd, 05, 11:04 AM you are missing the wing windows ;^)
click Dec 23rd, 05, 11:08 AM good eye :)
jcdubs Dec 23rd, 05, 11:10 AM How cool and unusual is that, that's pretty awesome.
clwilcox33 Dec 23rd, 05, 11:14 AM Wow, how awful!! I'm dissappointed in how "incorrect" that car is. At that color is horrid. Since you only have a 69 Camaro, I'd suggest you get rid of it quick! Let me give you my address to ship to :D :D :)
NICE present!!!
ChevyThunder Dec 23rd, 05, 12:16 PM It looks absolutely perfect, like brand new! Very cool and thoughtful of them. Your Christmas is starting out right :)

HwyStarJoe Dec 23rd, 05, 01:54 PM Sweet Jim! That was very nice of them.
I remember having those bump-n-go cars in the 60's. Gotta love the "Duet Action"!

*cry* It's true!! It's all true!! (admitting you have a problem is the first step eh?) :D
jr68 Dec 24th, 05, 08:15 AM You know its terrible but even though I love the first gen Camaros way more than the others I find myself being biased towards the 68 since I own one.
Sort of like a football team you love your team but if you play defense its like the offense is the other guy almost like two teams but your one.
I have to stop thinking the 68 is the best of the three after all we are team Camaro..............help me.
Calpantera Dec 24th, 05, 08:18 AM What?? They made Camaros in other years than the '67?? Why??

zuma Dec 24th, 05, 10:18 AM Jim, Nice score! Is it #matching?, I bet that is a rare color combo...I learn something new everyday here a TC. I thought 69 was the only year for the camaro...:clonk: ;)...Happy Holidays Everyone!!! :beers: Mike

The younger ones always get a little more attention...it is the baby after all. But we all know big brother is the wiser choice :)

OK you got me.. :)
HarleyD67 Dec 24th, 05, 09:59 PM Now we ALL know the real reason is they thought they could improve on the best thing since sliced bread. Or was it they just wanted to see how long they could ride the coat tails of a great car. :p Just kidding ;) 68's-69's are cool to.
HwyStarJoe Dec 24th, 05, 10:16 PM No, no, no..... yer ALL wrong.
The '67s and '68s were just test beds for the REAL first generation Camaro to be produced. GM worked out the bugs and played with body styles until 1969 when they couldn't improve on the car anymore. The first two years weren't really supposed to be sold to the public.
:beers:
Way to go GM!!

SnakeEyes Dec 25th, 05, 12:04 AM Cool Neighbors!
Calpantera Dec 25th, 05, 06:10 PM I actually consider a '69 the second gen :) It was a gen that only lasted 1 1/2 years then in late 1970 they came out with the 3rd gen.

gr868 Dec 28th, 05, 12:18 PM That's cool! I just won one on EBay, but not anywhere near as good as shape as yours. But still a neat Camaro to have for the collection. I don't have any pics of mine, but here's the Ebay # 6019185423.
Let me know if you find any good websites with info on these.
