What do you think the value should be on a 69 camaro SS documented with original paper work and p o p. Cali car all oringinal sheet metal non matching numbers except for trans. Auto 350. Needs paint. Air. Rear def. and I believe fold down rear seat. Rust starting to bubble ay the vinyl top. I should be able to answer any questions if someone might have some. I know you get these questions all the time but I thought I ask.
Thanks

I wouldn't go over $10k myself but some one who cares about paperwork might. IMO the originality is gone with it being not a numbers match car and isn't worth anymore than a base model coupe that would have discs and a 12 bolt. The V-top rust can be an ugly thing to deal with too. Also The cali car deal doesn't mean diddly if the car is rusting. Besides Cali is a coastal state so rust can be just as bad there. Lastly you don't give an indication where YOU are and that also can change the value of the car. Out west any rust can scare a person off while back east a car that we western folk would run away from would still demand good money. Good Luck on your sale or purchase(which also has an effect on value :D )

Generally, a documented true SS with replaced engine is worth more than a base car with SS badges. So many folks look at an X11, and say that's proof of s/b SS, although it is not. In fact most X11 were not SS! My Yenko Tribute Car is an X11, and all I know was that it had a 350 Tranny. It clearly was not an SS.

What the restored car is worth - what it will cost to make it worth that much = how much to pay.

I agree with unreal. A real SS is worth more than a non SS. You can always put a correct drive train back in it. If you do it to the base car its a clone ss. What Gary says is true in theory but they always seem to sell for more. Just remember, if you pay to much, just wait a while before you tell anyone. Then they will say you got a deal.

The other factor is the color and interior codes. A popular color combo will be more desirable and bring more money.
