need to hear from someone who may have had this problem. z28 302 69. i added power steering during the resto but when i tried to tighten the belt the hoses hit the adjuster bracket. i thought i could just grind away a little of it but that was the wrong thing to do. now i have to get a new one. i must be missing a spacer maybe? i don't know but i hope someone does. all parts for this were from classic. i am going to check my records to see if they sent me the correct parts as well. got to try anything at this point. merry xmas and thank you for your time.

Do you have the hoses routed right? Check the diagram in the assembly manual. The hoses should go DOWN and under the engine stand, they shouldn't be anywhere near the pump bracketry.

Also, since you put a non-original pump, make sure the low pressure (return) line is the right one. Different applications have the tube bent in different ways.

Make sure you have the correct set of brackets. I know you are talking s/m, but the b/b are unique for 69, although later b/b will work.

Also make sure you have the correct high pressure hose, with the U shaped tube on the pump end. I think it is bent that way to miss the brackets and the belt.
