Mery Christmas to all!

I was over at KevinW's yesterday and he is in the process of using some pourable plastic molds to potentially reproduce some parts that are no longer made by GM (basically learning the process of how to make this stuff!).

While I was talking with him, I was wondering where these guys who currently repro all this stuff we see that is not being made by GM right now get the license to do so?

I looked on the intenet (via search engines) and did not see anything that came out and bite me!

I was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about how to go about gettting a reproduction licensing agreement for items that GM does not currently make?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum category, but I looked and did not see any where for it to go that would fit.

Again, Merry Christmas!

Bruce

I think GM might be the place to start. I think a company has a term on a patent berore it can be reproduced. This might go for parts also. Seems to me that I don't see any sort of licencing stuff in catalogs. Only the OER parts which for the most part are poor quality in the first place. I like a,line of parts Ricks sells called Classic Headquaters. I am no expert on parts quality from all these people. Just my opinion.

I hoping the small amount of parts I reproduce will run under GMs radar. Thanks Bruce! for letting the cat out of the bag! :)

Jim, I had to start all over and make new molds. The back section of soleniod is done, I have around 6 completed. I am working on the front now. Made the mold, I have poured 2, both with air pockets. I hope to have those issues corrected within this week. Then I will offer the 1st sets to 2 Tcers that have PMed me for evaluation, then take some pics, make up and auction and onto ebay. Discount to Tcers of course.

Merry Christmas!

Once I finish casting the front part, I will take some pics and let the guys that have been waiting (a long time :) ) see my progress. Bob B and Doug H are the 2 guys that PMed me BTW. :D

Well now let's don't forget the original question here! I want to know if any body knows how to go about getting repro rights from GM. There must be an easay way to check the patent rights/how long they have before anyone can repro them?

No bag to let any thing out of Kevin! :o

I didn't tell them how far along you were!
