Hi there,

Im was wondering if you guys could let me know where I could get glass for the doors and the glass for behind the doors above the 1/4 panels?? I have tried the GM License Restoration Products and those dont fit, the contour is different. I bought them from Ricks 1st Gen and they didnt fit so I was wondering what you guys used for your windows??

Pilkington was the supplier of the factory original glass and still make it today.

Actually, LOF supplied most of the glass for the 69, and Pilkington purchased LOF. The new Pilkington glass has Pilkington Logo, not LOF. There's a guy in Minnesota, who removes the logo and puts LOF and correct date codes on the glass. Can't remember the company, and I'm not home to check my files. He did my windshield and back glass. I thought my side glass was good, until I finished my car. Now I think it sucks. I'll be buying the rest of the glass from him.

Unreal, thats not correct. They have the correct LOF glass and date codes if you want. I ordered a new windsheild and side glass for my 69 and it matched my other existing glass. As a matter of fact, you cannot tell the difference.

You did not indicate in your request if this was for a coupe or convertible-- it is my understanding that the quarter windows for convertible were differently contoured, so you'll need to get the right ones for your application. I could be wrong-- it certainly wouldn't be the first time.

Jonesy.... are you saying you can get LOF logo'd glass directly from Pilkington Classics? Do they put your date code on it? How does the price compare to to Auto City?

I gotta buy new side glass for mine....I did not follow my axiom to "Do it once, right!"

Yes, I bought mine from them and they were very easy to work with. I dont know how they compare to Auto City Classic. I bought a windsheild, and both door glass. My pass side door glass had a big chip in the top, so I replaced it. When I got the glass, I compared it to my originals and it was an EXACT match. If I recall, it wasnt cheap. $600 including shipping is what I recall. I feel it was well worth it. All my glass was clear, not tinted, so I dont know how that affects pricing. The fit was perfect.

Jonsey, Was it date coded to your car?
I paid alot for my windshield and back glass from Auto City. I want to think about $600 including date coding and shipping.

I know I talked to Pilkington Classics, but was thinking they did not use the LOF logo, or maybe used a newer version of the logo, or maybe did not date code, or maybe.........I hate getting old!

Yes, date coded to my existing chipped window. I dated the other front window the same as existing. The have the correct layout, as i cannot tell the difference between my old one and my new one from them.
