It was up for sale last month, and that was like the 2nd or 3rd time. I don't remember for how much though. I know it got quite a bit of attention, it's definately a drama getter.

Where else can you get that type of exposure and advertising for $40.00 ?
someone should have bought that car 5 months ago, when he first had it for sale... there 1 million dollar investment would now be worth 1.5 million.. o well, win some, lose some!!!!!

I don't know the owner however he does get some rude comments from the idiots out there that know nothing about his car, i personally don't blame him for some of his remarks, id do it too but i would not be as nice as him.

Do we have to do this every time he lists the car? It's an advertisment for all his business and other auctions and if someone actually wants the car they'll have to pony up the big coin. What's a ZL1 going for these days, $600,000?

We give him more free publicity every time it comes up here in the forums.

Who's to say what they are going for these days you hardly see any for sale, its not like there is a bunch of them out on the market.

Non-original Engine. I Think He Will Keep The Car With This Starting Bid And I Do Know A Lot About These Cars.

The thing I love is that all of the messages that are posted each time for this car always happen within hours of opening the auction on the first day. Even more amazing is they are always the same. Like it has been said, it is just an advertising deal nothing more.

TFultz.....I am going to up your bid to $2.50 :D

These guys are the ones who continuely keep the prices out of reach for the true luvers of these cars. It will sell (maybe not this time) for some outrageous amount somewhere along the line.

I can say "I remember when could buy a '67 Chevelle SS 396/375hp 4 speed car for $1,200 in really nice shape!"

I say "Keep it real!"

Makes me wonder what my '69 427 is really worth?

Not sure what it is worth but I know where there is a ZL 1 with the original engine, original trans and original rear end , better color IMHO , that has been fully restored...it can be had for 1,250,000 .. so if any TC members are looking for such a car let me know and I will hook you up :)

I will say that a ZL1 was offered to me for 350k 8 months ago. That same car has reportedly sold for almost 900k at the Mercham Auction a month ago..the car is known as the "give away car" and is not as nice as the Heartbeat City car....so it may not be worth 1.4 but I think if the Mecham Auction results are true..and I have not confirmed that they are and haven't tried to...then asking north of 1mm is not out of the question.

I think I'm going to but my 1968 Z/28 on ebay for $300,000. In the body of my eBay ad, I'm going to have several paragraphs about my Insurance Agency and the products we sell. Seems like this a very smart way to get some exposure and advertising for a small price. Of course, I have to intention of selling the car.

well it seems that almost everytime this guy lists something, for example this supposed JL8 rear end he reproed & built it was first offererd for $5000 then it went to $10000 for a rear, 69 header panels started at 295 now they are $495, or trunk lids he is listing "1969 NOS trunk lids----but hes the one making them!!!. and they are at $1000 This is not only wrong but very illegal.
What would my cars be worth in a million EBAY pieces??? for me its guys like this one that kill it for us all, there is a solution do like me plain & simple dont buy from a crook!!!

This one goes under the old " it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay". and yes he probably doesn't want to sell it any way. All we're doing is hyping it up more, he's sitting at home loving all this attention he's getting for his parts biz.

I have dealt with Jim several times and even though he sells for top dollar he is honest and sells top quality parts. He is selling NOS and reproduction trunk lids. The repro lids are $429.00. The NOS is $1000.00. Look at the ads closely.

That's exactly what I'm thinking.
It's the best damn advertising he can get for $40.00
I doubt he thinks the car will sell on eBay, unless someone is stupid enough to pay $1.5M for it.

Hey....I should try that....

well i guess there is a first for everthing then , no one that i have talked to has had i "good" experience, he tryed to sell me a NOS trunk lid that he stamped himself for $1000 this doesnt seem fair or honest in my book.
