: Wheel Spacers or other options...

Ok, my '68 coupe has the 12-bolt rearend out of an earlier NOVA. The problem with that is: the nova rearend is 57 ¾” while the camaro rearend should be 60 ¼”. When I replaced my wheels I compenstated for about 1/2" of this with back space. However, my rear wheels still sit inboard about 3/4-1" narrower than my fronts. It doesnt look too bad, but it bothers me a little. I've never really liked the Mr. Gasket aluminum wheel spacers, but what other options do I have to space the wheels out?
I've been thinking about sending the housing out to have new flanges welded in and getting new axles, or building a 9". The price of the 9" has me thinking about doing other upgrades instead.
Opinions or suggestions?
Thanks.

I'm sorry but wouldn't new wheels with the correct back spaceing be easier and cheaper?

That nova rear is probably worth more than a comparable first gen 12 bolt. Find a Nova owner (www.novas.net) and sell it and get a 12 bolt that fits correctly.

If the problem is only tire rubbing on inner wheelwell, maybe make some
mini tubs -- that way you can run some fat rubber in the back. It's only
1.5 inches per side so it won't end up looking like those goofy trailer queen
pro street cars.

anyone have any info on the mini-tubs?
the tires don't rub, it's just a little odd looking having the wheels inboard more in the rear than in the front. I'm running a 255 55 17 back there w. plenty of room. 225 50 16 in the front.

I agree w/Harley.
Get different wheels.

I have 10 1/2" ZO6 wheels tucked under my rear fenders, no mini tubs needed here. If it's done right, there should be no hacking involved.
