I am considering changing my Center Dash trim from wood grain to pebble black. However, my console also has wood grain. I looked in Rick's catalogue and every console has wood grain.

I am going to use guages, so the only part that is wood grain is around the shifter. Was this part ever pebble black, just painted flat black or were they all wood grain?

pretty sure 68 & 69 were all woodgrain, and the 2 years were different wood too.
I dealt with thislast year, was going to make up a black aplique for around the shifter, but when I peeled the wood off my repro shifter surround, I found all shiny chrome underneath. Deceded to leave it that way. Here's a pic:

Nice!! I am going with the same guage pod, but I am going to use the traditional chrome guages. Black with chrome rings. I have an automatic, so I may just take the wood grain off like you did.
