My goal is to add factory A/C to a non A/C car. I have collected most of the pieces required for the conversion, but have a few questions:

Will the fiberglass evaporator housing cover the heater core inlet / outlet openings by the right valve cover, or will some sheetmetal work be required?

Are there any aftermarket condensor cores available that would be more efficient as to increase system performance?

Has anyone converted from R-12 to R-134A? I have also heard of a propane based transfer agent that, according to the information, outperforms both R-12 and R-134A, at a lesser cost. Could anyone comment on this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The firewall is different and sheetmetal work is required. Also there is a cut out in the cowl above the evaporator for a vacuum valve.
The blower motor has a baffle on air cars, and the astro vent openings are not used. along with holes for wiring and vacuum hose.
The system can be converted to R134a by adjusting the POA valve. There is a lot of info at www.autoacforum.com (http://www.autoacforum.com)
