I might be getting an original 68 RS/SS 396/325 camaro from an uncle of mine. The body is perfect but the rest of the car is a backet case. The original motor, tranny, and rear are in the car. It was an orgianl AC car but all that was taken off some time ago and half the AC box on the firewall is still intact but broken. I found the condenser and alot of parts in the trunk but I really think i would have to buy all new to this car justice if I want to keep the AC.

My question: If I do not care about the AC on the car can I just convert it to a non AC car and use a regular heater core box? Will it bolt right in or where the firewalls different between AC and nonAC cars?

Thanks, Erik

I have a picture of the motor numbers and the trim tag if somebody could post them for me.

The opening in the firewall is different for AC vs. non-AC. You would have to do some modifications to use a plain heater box on the firewall. If you decide to put the AC back in I have a complete suitcase assembly for a big-block. IMHO, a car like this would be worth much more with the AC.

Do a search within the site on american Graffiti AC delete box. This closes up the firewall nicely. I used one on my car.
