I know it stands for the 306th day (on the CRG page), but how do you know when this was calendar wise? I guess I am not seeing the big picture. z28doug Jan 11th, 06, 07:56 AM Gambitt, The Julian calender starts Jan. 1st of each year. Say your pump is stamped 03891S. The 038 would be the 38th day of the year and the 9 would be '69. The 1S is either the assembly location or 1st shift or both. That one I don't know for sure. The casting number on the back of your pump should end with 1149. Hope that helps, Doug Gambitt Jan 11th, 06, 08:07 AM Thanks! Gambitt Jan 12th, 06, 06:41 AM To make sure I understand this correctly...if I am looking for a correct smog pump for my 04D car...I should probably look for one that the first three digits fall between 060-090? Would that be correct? z28doug Jan 12th, 06, 08:07 AM Gambitt, I would say approx. 1-5 weeks before your engine assembly date. Doug Gambitt Jan 12th, 06, 09:45 AM So am I in the right general direction with my guess? I am just wondering if my guess for March is correct. JohnZ Jan 12th, 06, 05:46 PM Gambitt, I would say approx. 1-5 weeks before your engine assembly date. Doug Should precede the CAR's assembly date by that amount; the A.I.R. pump was installed on the engine dress line at the car assembly plant, not at the engine plant. z28doug Jan 12th, 06, 07:43 PM Gambitt, I stand corrected.... JohnZ knows his stuff...... According to my quick estimation you should look for a 077-105 assembly date code. Doug Gambitt Jan 13th, 06, 07:10 AM Thanks for all the help guys! Gambitt |
