Guys,
I just acquired a 1969 396 block 4-bolt main block; Casting number 3955272, Casting date B 26 9.
The cylinder decks have been lightly surfaced, thus taking the identification stamping off.
I have heard of a chemical process that exposes the compressed material where the stamping used to be. Is this process for real? Where can I get it done.
My intent is to resale the block, and I want to have as much info on it as possible.
Can anyone tell me how to "raise" the numbers?
