That # distributor wasn't used on a 68 Z/28

CRG has an article about it...

Did all Z28's come with transistor distributors?

No. No first gen Z came with transistor ignition standard. Only the 68 could be ordered with it, but it came in the trunk just like headers, if ordered that way.

Not quite. 1969 Camaro ZL1s had the K66 ignition as standard equipment.

It was not optional. If you wanted it you ordered it at the parts counter, just like a cross-ram. Only headers and the plenum air set up were "furnished loose".

Of course, William is correct. When I said Z's I was referring to the Z28, not the ZL1. And I mistakenly stated that it could be ordered with a Z/28 in 68, but it could not. Was thinking that because of the way it is listed in Colvin's book, shown as available for a 68 Z/28 but does not show as available for the 69 Z/28. It was just as available in 69 (I have one dated May of 69) but purely over the counter.

Thanks William for keeping it straight.
