Will the experts please look at this and tell me if it's a re-stamp or legit deal. Obviously there are some things that don't belong on the pad??? thanks Ken

The V0604MO is real and the VIN looks consistant with other stamped MO blocks I have seen where the is a slight misalignment of the characters.
I would have to say it's real.

I can see broach marks. The MO stamp looks real. The partial VIN stamp looks a little strange at the second and eighth digit. Usually the gang stamp keeps things straight. The Team Camaro (TC) stamp is cool. The 302 stamp might be a wrecking yard ID stamp.

The MO stamp might be real but the partial VIN should be in a straight line since it's held in the gang stamp. So the partial VIN sure looks like a restamp. The fact that other stuff was added to the pad would make me think it was restamped as well.

It has been noted by CRG that during the 68 model year some of the characters in the vin stamp had a tendency to float a bit. I know it was common with the "N" (Norwood) designation during a particular time period. I dont see anything wrong with the stampings. The TC and 302 were likely added during a rebuild as designations such as these were sometimes added by the machine shop. Just my independent opinion I dont want to speak on CRG's behalf.

Even in MacNeish's book there is a VIN stamping that is crooked. I see more crooked ones in 68 than in 69.

I think he wants a bit much with no caps and needing to be bored out???

Main caps gone, that's not good. It will have to be line bored which can change the centerline of the crank.
