Aren't Neutral and "OK" the same things?

While I like the car, hope it is produced and soon... my daily driver is a truck, that won't change, I'm not and won't be in the market... and the enormous number of threads on this topic is getting in the way of serious firstgen questions.
The new challenger, on the other hand, is almost good enuf to sell my soul for.

I would have liked to have seen a little more of a retro look for the new Camaro. Something more like:

I gave it an "ok" in the poll for now ... But it might grow on me some.

hmmm one of Horton's drawings?
The nose on that car has the same effect on me as the challenger!

Yea, I went OK too. It's just a little on the "modern" side for me. Now I do like the nose/grill on that one!! That would be a great place to start!

I think the new Camaro looks as much like a new Mustang as it does a Camaro.

I like it. It would get a better review from me except that I think the back end looks a bit funky... I like the rest of it. The profile is really great.

The nose on that pic (Thortons?) is better. I think the side veiw is good but the trunk needs to slope down. 67 tail lights would look great. The Interior looks good though. Its almost perfect! Hope a drop top option is available.
I dont know if my current driver is going to wait for the new camaro it keeps telling me im done already. 92 board extorter

Now if you took that car and installed hideaway headlights and put a rear spoiler on it you would have my vote.

Looks like someone left a '69 camaro model in the oven for a while. :boring:

It is a great start to a great car. However, I hope that 2009 is not too little to late. I think the camaro has enough balance of retro syling cues, and enough new design to really say that it is a 5th generation. Look at all the other cars that have evolved to be not even a shadow of their former selves. GM deserves some credit for their new camaro imo.

I just hope it dont flop like the gto did.
Infamous said, Its not getting any more retro than it is now.
IMHO, It needs to be more retro, The mustang and the challenger are very retro. The Challenger is getting all kinds of hipe over it just like the mustang did when we got to see the photos of it.
Im the one that said, Put an orginal grill in to the car. I think that it would be cool to use an orginal part.
If your not going to make a car retro , Why give it a hint of any kind to look like the 69.
There was not that much talk among us camaro people for a retro camaro untill the mustang came out with its retro design,Thats when we thought that we would see a very very retro camaro,(more retro than what it is)At least thats what we were hoping for anyway.
Anyway im glad to see G.M. give us a rwd 2 door car again.
Im a die hard chevy fan and i'll love it no matter what it looks like when its born.
Thanks for letting me rammble.

Hopefully they will think about pricing on the car. Big motors in small affordable packages is what started the muscle car era after all. This is one of the reasons ford sells so many mustangs. Quit a bit cheaper then the camaros when they were being sold.
I see a
6litre
6 speed
manual windows
am radio
ac delete
See where I'm going with this.
If there going to build it. Then they need to compete.

If it's retro, it will die. It'll be just like the PT cruiser, VW beetle, etc.
The 5th gen camaro is a NEW car, with retro styling cues, which is an excellent idea. It's got the platform that it needs, it's definately a camaro, (if you see a stang, I don't know what to say) We dont want our beloved car to become rental car fodder like the *other pony car. It needs work, but is definately headway.

I just counted the votes and it's give or take about 150. About 100 seem to be favorable of the new style. But of the 16 replys, there are only a couple that really like it. I'm not seeing many jump on the new styling bandwaggon. I've gotta go with the O.K. group. I agree that the new Camaro will go the way of the GTO if they leave it with the futuristic look that it has now. I gotta say the new Mustang looks like a Mustang and it looks great. The new Camaro, on the other hand only resembles the old one. Just too damn swoopy for my taste. J.R.

Everyone keeps comparing it to the GTO, the problem with the GTO is that it looks like any ordinary sedan. Forget what it has under the hood, it just doesnt look exciting. There is nothing about it besides whats under the hood that would get me to give it a second thought. Even then where its priced I could never talk myself into one. at least the Camero looks exciting and that you expect some performance from a car like that.

Gonna be 5th gen owner

the new camaro is the wave of the future it is sweet who really cares about the gto anyways the gto is a joke it is not half of what the camaro is! The camaro is going to be an icon some day. Sure it is not a first gen and it desirves its own respect from the first gen owners because it will smoke almost all of the stock first gen cars out there exept maybe the legendary ZL-1 and that would be a real close one considering the way they used to judge horsepower compared to now! Not to mention the way the car will handle compared to the first gen cars! When this car comes out we should set up a 5th gen VS. a 1st gen race so that the 5th gen can get some well desirved respect! Let's see if hot rod, super chevy or any other magazine would lie to cover that showcase of power! I do like the 1st gen cars don't get me wrong I just hope that people understand that this car was made for everyone not just the 1st gen owners

Looks mean a lot. Many buyers would pass on a Camaro that reminds them of a Cadillac in some strange way. The 5th gen needs more 1st gen retro look mixed with contemporary feel.

Even if I squint or look at it upside down it looks nothing like a cadillac. Also I would expect a little fine tuning on the design before we see a finished product. As is it looks like a sports car, maybe not the one everyone was hoping for but to say it looks like a cadillac is just plain wrong.

Give me a Convertible SS in dark blue or a Pace Car edition if so available!

The picture of the red Camaro on page one looks more like a Mitsubishi Eclipse than anything else. If I had a choice between the car in the posting or the GM Prototype, I would take the GM design. However I am very curious what the other design that GM turned down looked like, since they said that design was too retro. Actually might be just perfect. You never know? Anyone have a line on the spy pics of the design that was shot down?

This is the only other 'design' I have seen yet, the half/half model.

Awesome. Are there any more pictures? I am real curious what the "Too Retro" design looks like? My guess is that if GM thought it was too retro, then it might be just right?

I don't like the fact that it looks alot like the Cadillac either. I wish it looked more like a Camaro. I was driving yesterday and saw another Cadillac STS and it looked just like the new Camaro. Yuk!

I think the new Camaro is O.K.
It looks better when you accually see it, instead of just seeing pictures.

I want is as close to an original first gen as possible on the outside and a 2006 Z06 on the inside. Hell just build a replica of a 68 model and a 69 model on a modern chassis and sell them both to the public and we can each buy the one we want.

I like the new camaro, I have a 67 RS so I guess you can say I'm old school maybe thats why I like it so much. Yes I agree its needs a little changing but it's better then the new mustang. No affence to anyone I have a 04 Mustang GT too but I just don't like the new mustang over the camaro.
