I found what appears to be a BBC in a junk yard. Its just a short block but theres dome pistons so somthings up. I found the Pad ID numbers off the passenger side front of the block they appear to be very long though. they are

TO825TV18S103262

What would this be? It had big ol honkin' 2 bolt main caps. I know it wasnt a small block but seemed small for a BB. Anyone know? It did have dome pistons thats what cought my eye. Thanks in advance...

Sure it was TV? I don't think there was a TV code, at least I can't find one. Last 2 letter engine suffix starting with T is TF. IV is a 68 L35 396/325HP equipped with a TH400 transmission. The VIN is from a 68 Vette.

Post the casting numbers from the ledge at the back of the driver's side of the block. That'll help narrow things down.

It's an "IV" which is a 396/325 with a Turbohydramatic transmission, from a 1968 Full Size car built in St. Louis, MO. The engine was assembled at Tonawanda on August 25th, 1967 and mated to a very early 1968 model car (3,262nd off the line).
