I think I have a real early VIN. Can anyone give me a little more insight??

124379N500670

Also, I think I've managed to figure out the trim tag using software at camaros.org:

ST 69 12437 NOR106755 BDY
TR 715 53 B PNT
08D

08D = Built the Fourth week of August.
69-12437 = Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
715 = Standard Dark Blue Bucket Seats.
53-B = Lower Color is Glacier Blue and the Vinyl Top Color is Black.

This sounds about right? Thanks! :beers:

Yup, sounds right.
Pretty early car.
Any original drivetrain left in the car?

No orig drivetrain except 12 bolt. :( But it's set back up with a 350/4 barrel with TH-350 auto so I still get the stock look.

I picked up the car fairly recently and have been trying to figure out exactly what she is. Definitely RS. Badged SS, all good signs are there too, but tough to prove without drivetrain or documentation:

dual fuel lines
dual exhaust hanger
12 bolt
leaf springs
front discs

Was planning on taking out back seat to check for X code. None on trim tag. Too early. Any other ideas??

So ya think my vehicle is honestly no. 670 off the line?? :beers: New to the motorhead world, and loving this site! Thanks for the help!!

Yup, really hard to tell.

What's the axle code, http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#RearAxleNumbers?
And how many coils on the hood springs?

Heater core is for small block. Not sure what to look for with frame mounts..?
Will look for the axle code this weekend. :beers:

OK, well I've been talking with the guys over at camaros.org. Was able to pull the axle stamp and casting:

BL 0820G1 F248 = 3.07 non-posi and this date looks right on for my early build date.

Also, just pulled the rear seat. Black paint by previous owner under there so no visible code :(

What else can I be looking for to possibly confirm SS?? Thanks, all!!

As I just said in my email, only thing else to check is the hood springs: http://www.camaros.org/underhood.shtml
