I have a set of 68-69 ss louvers and can't tell if they're repops( I know I know...pitiful). I'm still workin on my repop spotters merit badge;) . Does anyone have an original louver handy they could check out and tell me what #'s are cast into the back?

one side has a 1 next to what could be described as a coat-of-arms and also has the number 27042 molded into it. this one has the drain tube in the lower left when it's upside down.

the other one with the drain tube in the lower right has the coat-of-arms and a 27043 molded into it.

there is a left and a right.

Very likely that they are the same side. They stopped selling right and left back in the 70's. You can just remove one post or drill an extra hole for it in the hood and it works just fine. If they are nice I would do just that unless its an exceptionally rare car that needs to be perfect for points. Then you can hunt down a pair of NOS correct left and right for around $1,000
