Did the letter I get used on a '69 water pump for the month date? I've got one with an L and am wondering if it desiginates December.

For cast parts, the letter "I" was used for September, making December an "L". For stamped parts, the letter "I" wasn't used, therefore September would be a "J" and December would be an "M".
