The cowl induction relay is not hooked up electrically on my 69. I pulled the switch off the throttle arm because it was causing the throttle to stick. The cowl induction air filter surround/bowl is not installed. My question is, if I remove the operable baffle from the rear of the hood and left it wide open all the time would this have any adverse affect on the motor performance. I would guess that it would not but better safe than sorry.

Ive had my flapper removed for 3 years with no ill effect. The air still gets filtered so dont sweat it .

I removed mine also. I made a screen to fit the opening at the back of the hood. The car has been on the road for a while now and haven't had any problems. And it doesn't look too bad either. Kevin
