HI guys. Ive recently started the body work on my 67. It has a vynly top on it, which will be replaced, and the filler panel looks suspect. Before I started this project, there were little bumps under the vynyl top, (rust), and thats what has prompted me to undertake this. After I removed the top, and started wire wheeling the surface rust, turns out there are holes in the filler panel. Now, my question is, should I replace the panel, or repair it with fiberglass. I still have the back glass in, so I dont know what shape the channel is in, but from what ive seen, it looks to be in good shape. Keep in mind that this is my 1st effort at body repair, and the interior of the car is still in perfect shape. I just dont know what to do from here. Any advice would be helpfull.
Thanks,
James

Anyway, Im just nervous about this type of thing. Ive never done it before. And wouldnt really know where to start. Heck, I dont even know where Id get a spot welder

that panel is one of the easiest weld on panels you can put on a camaro , if you just had one of those $49.95 stich welder's from eastwood would do great on that , really I assure you if you take your time remove the old one carefully you can do that little panel replacement with no trouble at all , the repo panel's for that fit good also you never hear anyone complain about them , this is one case where a repo will fit and work right out of the box , you will have to take the rear glass out to but that ain't no problem either , I love the look's of your car , one company even makes that rear deck filler panel that has the metal under the rear glass allready on it let me see if I can find a picture of the one I refer to ,,,,,,,,,
