I have a 68 camaro and will be installing the Comp Eng bolt in frame connectors. I will be attempting this by my self with probably no help. Do you have any last minute suggestions? My connectors were delivered today so I may start installation tomorrow. Any suggestions welcome.

Before you start, Buy 6 new forward leaf spring mount bolts and capture nuts. You have to take these out and then use them to mount the rear of the frame connector. They usually break 2 or 3 due to rust and age.

As idoxlr8 suggested, depending on the condition of the bolts and mount clips you may spend the whole day grinding and cutting the old clips and bolts out.
I would like to hear your opinion and how the installation goes because I am going to install SFC's on my 68 in about a month. I was looking at the CE's but have not made a decision yet.

I installed CE subframe connectors and traction bars on my 67 RS last weekend. It took all of Sunday to complete both. If you read and follow directions it should be no problem.Good luck.

Also go and but a couple really good drill bits in the size you need for the bolts. I tried using my cheapies and burnt and dulled quite a few trying to drill thru the subframe. Also if you find that one of the bolts in the spring perch dosen't line up (which is common), just temporarily bolt the connector in and drill a new hole then install cage nuts and leaf springs.Don't retighten the body mount bolt down completely untill you have the connector installed and the car back on the ground, then tighten this bolt, then drill and bolt the front half of the connector to the sub frame, this keeps the body where it belongs otherwise you would have the car twisted slightly.

I put this in my 67 last summer. I choose to weld them in as well as bolting them for added stuffness. On my car, I had to modify the rear outside tabs and had to notch my floor pan to get them to fit correctly. This ment that I had to remove my seats and carpet so I could weld the subframe connectors to the floor. This took a little longer then expected (just like it always does) but I know they are very not going to move around on me.
