Ha Guys, I would like to know what to use in my trunk. I've used some anti-rust sealant in my trunk that kills the rust and changes the color black. It seems OK. What type of silicone or calking goes on the seams and where is the best place to purchase it. I want to know if undercoating my trunk is a good idea. I want to also spray spakle paint in the trunk; any help and advice would be helpful.

Seam sealer is what you need to use to seal all the body crevices and original places where the differnt panels came together. You should be able to get it in a chaulking tube or a quart can, which can be brushed on. You will probably need both. Should be able to get it at any autobody/paint store.
I personally would pass on the undercoating, if you are talking about putting it in the actual trunk area. There is really no need for it, and it will be a pain to ever remove. I would just go over the primer with a good quality compatible black paint, then use the speckle paint. Painting it black first will help save on the speckle paint, which is relatively expensive for what you get. Hope this helps you out.

If you want the ultimate seam sealer get #4202 Urethane seam sealer at NAPA (you'll need a #4983 Caulking gun. This stuff and a similar 3M product is miles ahead of the old stuff.

I've never used the NAPA seam sealer, but I agree the urathane seam saelers are best for longevity. I personally use the 3M thats in the sausage packs.

The 3M 08361(gray) or 08360(white) ultra pro seam sealer. Great stuff.

Prior to applying the spackle paint in the interior of your trunk, I would sand off or wire wheel off any surface rust. Then spray the trunk with a rust killer/inhibiter like EXTEND. You will have to let it dry for 24 hours prior to applying the spackle paint.

I would also pass on the undercoating part, but can the "spacle" paint be covered with a urethane coating after the application. You know the urethane used by bodyshops, that is applied with the spay paint gun and used to seal the paint and make it shine. I think that will make it easier to clean and maintain.

You should coat it with some kind of sealer. The splatter paint is water soluble. The easier cleaning would also be a plus.
