Hey guys help me out.
I have been banging my head against the wall trying to make the right move on what way to go with my ZZ4 385 FB crate engine.
Here's the deal.
Option #1 Purchase the GM hot cam kit and replace my 1:5 rockers with 1:6
GM'S claim this will boost hp by 45
Option # 2 Install Comp Cam's cs-xr276hr-10 and have the heads shaved.
This will bring my compression up from 9:6:1 to 10:?
I have been told this way will boost my hp by 50 or more.
My feeling is that option number 1 will leave me with a more dependable running engine and less leaky gasket problems.
Option 2 will cost more to do but my engine will sound and pull a lot better.
I plan on doing one of these options in the next 2 weeks.
