With the new 'maro, 'stang and Challenger wouldn't it be great if they returned the Trans Am to what it once was?

Either that or just go racing in Grand Am /IMSA ....just like the old days when you saw plenty of camaros, mustangs etc at the 24 hour and 12 hour races in Florida..my buddy Kevin Buckler/TRG ( The Racers Group) got the factory deal from GM and has been running the GTO with much success! I should ask him if there has been any talk about the other makes coming into the arena

Were would Pontiac find another chassis engineer like Herb Adam to set the 'bird apart from the Camaro?

I'd be happy with that, but would rather see them on thier own. Perhaps make it like a feeder series. Maybe what the IRL was supposed to be - American drivers in American cars. I'm not anti foreign drivers, it would just be a neat series to get some more American's in road racing.

I agree...but if it doesn't happen I just hope the other guys will jump into Grand Am so we can at least have those cars battling in a class

Only if I can see this being driven. This is what a Trans Am car should look like in 2007!!!

DAMN RIGHT !!! I would love to see the trans am style races again the roar of a little 302 the whine of a muncie four speed those cowl induction air systems man those were some car's , I doubt if they would be many people willing to risk damaging a 67 68 69 Z/28 or the like to race with any type of originality they might take a lap around the track to show off but that would be about it , I am affraid those day's are gone ,,

too bad AMC isn't still around to make the series complete.
