i just replaced my rear leaf springs using the hothckis TVS. my drivers side is 28 inches to the fender rim and the passenger side is 27.5 inches. it was slightly off with my last set also. the rear quarters were replaced before i purchased the vehicle so this might be the problem, but looking at the rear of the vehicle it does seem to lean about 1/2. is there a way to correct this.

do they sell adjustable rear shocks and would this fix the problem. i don't know how old the rear shocks are.

also i know the front bushing and everything up front need to be replaced, would this also effect the rear height on both sides.

I'm guessing your coils are worn or your 35 yr. old rubber body mounts are toast. Measure the front of the car both sides...let us know what you come up with.

I'm assuming your tire pressure is good on all four corners,..might check.

The new springs may or may not solve the problem. You might have to resort to a spacer under the coil spring to get the desired result.

I have a picture of the GW spring spacer on my website.

the measurements for each wheel well hieght is 25 3/4 inch (LF), 25 1/4 inch(RF), 28 inch (LR), and 27 1/4 inch (RR)

The shocks at KYB on all four (unknown how old), rear new leaf springs and rear sway bar (hotchkis)

the front end control arms bushing all need to be replaced and sub frame also

being that everything in the front needs to be replaced with new bushings its proably hard to fix the difference until they are replaced

thanks for any info that anyone can give

also does anyone know what torque the u bolts on the shock plates set be set around

STOP ! you are mixing two different items together/ measure (on level surface)
frame points to ground , varience here is your suspension! Now measure ground to body and subtract the suspension varience ! this is in the body mounts and bushings! DO NOT try to fix a suspension problem by shiming the body ! or change a spring to repair a body bushing!

I guess i stated my problem incorrectly, i plan on changing all of the bushing and other items, then look at the hieghts again. i was only seeing what other possible problems could be causing the differences and what possible fixes could be done to fix the problems.

i was looking for some problems to look for while i was working on the vehicle or look for other worn parts i did not think of.

thanks for any comments or advice

If new front coils don't balance everything out, then then new body mounts should. If you're still listing, you may have a twisted subframe.

Also, new coils will raise your front an inch or so,..which I'm guessing your car needs, based on the measurements you supplied.

In my high performance pontiac mag it stated (at least for the 67-69 FB) that GM made the driver side slightly higher and should even out with the driver in it.
