Well, mid-late January in upstate NY usually means temperatures in the 20s, maybe 30s if we are lucky. Often with snow on the ground and a ton of salt/salt dust on the roads. With all that said i actually drove the Camaro today up and down my road about 2 miles. Amazing, unbelievably mild winter...55 today, and the roads (at least mine) completely clean of any salt dust thanks to all the rain. Never seen anything like it. Big teaser though...srpings still a long way off.

you didn't say " knock on wood" after your mild winter coment, so its all your fault when the inevetable cold sets in :D

Shoot, that's nothing, it's been 70/80/90 here in the DFW area all "winter", plus, we haven't had any significant rain in MONTHS! We're in the middle of a serious drought down here, it hasn't been this bad since the 1950's!!!

Been in the thirty's, forty's, and sometimes 50's for a month now... as I sit here looking at my vert with her nose in the air and no motor under the hood. But
I went to the machine shop today and watched em bore the last 3 holes. It's gonna clean up at .020, and should be all done by Tuesday. They said they could do my heads ina few day, 3 anbgle valve job, check the springs and guides and new teflon seals for $179!

When I was living up at South Bend, IN by myself back about 1983 or '84, I rode my motorcycle the week before Christmas in a tee-shirt b/c it was about 65 to 70 degrees!!

Talk about weird temp's that year..

Glad to hear you folks are getting a break from the nasties and high fuel bills - even if it's just temporary.
Maybe us Calif guys jinked ourselves with all that 'sunny wearther' talk a few months back...
Over an inch of rain the last couple days, sunny/partly cloudy in the 50's today and rain tonight and tomorrow again (then maybe nice a couple days).
When will it be nice enough out I can start painting again... :D

Found your lost snow in Utah! We just had about a foot and a half dump on us in Tooele County, and thats not even close to the ski resorts!

Guess I shouldn't mention I am still spraying myself with Off to keep the blood thirsty 'skeeters at bay. Coldest it's been here was 39. Need some cold to sweeten up the grapefruit and oranges.

But I read in the paper were going into a La Niņa this spring/summer which means we will have hurricanes forming earlier and getting stronger faster this up coming season. So I guess we all have our crosses to bear.

Crazy for sure. I heated with wood for many years and we would often be in single digit temps during the day at this time. And here I'll be repairing washouts in my driveway today from rain while it's 50!

It's been incredibly "warm" here in northwest Wisconsin this winter...past month has been around 30-35 every day. Seems like when Russia gets the extreme cold then we get warmer weather, and vice versa. I also heat with wood, I don't have a lot so this has worked out well for me...I can actually work on the Camaro in my garage, in fact I waxed the car on new year's eve! (I do have a small electric heater in there).
Today it's around 35 degrees, I'm installing a new set of front/rear shocks on the car, it will still be cold lying on the garage floor--

This has definately been one of the strangest winters I can ever remember. In OK, all we have had was a light dusting of snow, while just 200 miles north we had 2 significant snow storms...one about 14" and the other about 12" (was only supposed to be 3-5" ), plus numerous dustings. But, knock on wood, no ice!! Which is just fine with me. Lots of fires in OK too this winter.
